Packing minimally is a very important part of traveling, especially when you don’t have a lot of space, like in a camper van! Here’s my guide on how to pack minimally for your camper van trip!

It is so incredibly easy to pack more than you need and this feels like such a silly tip, but it really is important to really think about what you actually NEED and will use.
Capsule wardrobes are a big thing these days, but they are actually incredibly useful for packing light! Try picking 2 pairs of pants and a few tops that all work interchangeably. Pick one coat or jacket that will work for the weather where you’re going, unless of course you’ll be needing a raincoat and a winter jacket. Next, pick our a single pair of shoes that work with all outfits. These simple steps will help you pack light!
Quick-drying, odor resistant clothes are PERFECT for travel because they can be worn longer and, when washed, don’t take a long time to dry before you can wear again!
I used to bring all my makeup and all the things, even when I knew deep down inside I wouldn’t use it. You don’t need to bring all the makeup, the curling iron etc., it just takes up wasted space. I usually don’t even end up getting a shower in on a short camper van trip, so it’s not worth bringing all my shower things. Basically I only use deodorant, face wash, a brush, and a toothbrush/toothpaste.
Keeping things organized is very important when traveling in a camper van with little space. Packing cubes or a hanging organizer like this work so well and help keep things in their place while traveling. This hanging organizer held all of my clothes and ivy’s for our whole trip, even with the bulky winter clothing!
I hope these tips help you pack minimally for your next trip and be able to travel lighter!
