Air travel with a toddler is exciting! It has its challenges like anything, but it’s one of the funnest things if you take the necessary steps to make it a success! Here are my tried and trusted top five tips for air travel with toddlers! Let’s get to it!
Find an empty gate to run around in or a a play area (see my post about three perfect airport amenities for toddlers)!
Keeping it to a minimum of a backpack and fanny pack/sling so your hands can remain free is super important! It’s super stressful if you try to wrangle a toddler without any hands haha!
You will thank me later when you’re not searching all over for them at security or boarding! In addition, you can get your digital boarding passes on your phone if that’s something you feel would work well for you! My only precaution with this is making sure your phone doesn’t die!
Not all airports have family nap rooms, but most have play areas, nursing rooms and family bathrooms! Take advantage of them! The nursing rooms are so nice and relaxing!
Next time you find yourself taking flight with a toddler, give these tips a try! I hope it helps your travel day go a lot smoother! Remember, there will be hiccups, but expecting them is half the battle. Going with the flow on travel days is incredibly important and helps things go so much smoother!
